Project Manger -Wind

Job Description:

This role involves managing the complete lifecycle of wind energy projects, including design, engineering, procurement, and construction. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing project plans, budgets, and staffing, while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and under budget. The role also requires coordination with internal teams, external stakeholders, subcontractors, and clients to ensure seamless execution, risk management, and successful project handover to operations.

Key Skills / Qualifications :

  • Extensive hands-on work experience on ETAP tool – minimum 5 years.
  • Experience in power systems projects, including design of control panels, switchgear, and transformers – minimum 5 years.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, EEE, or M.S. in Power Systems.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and resource allocation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Familiarity with contract negotiation, construction compliance, and risk management.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Manage the design, engineering, and construction of wind energy projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute project proposals/work plans to define timelines, funding limits, staffing needs, and resource allocation for project phases.
  • Establish and oversee work plans, staffing, and budgeting for all phases, including design, engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Create project budgets and take responsibility for reviewing, forecasting, and reporting expenditures while ensuring cost control within the approved budget.
  • Conduct regular project meetings with management, clients, and subcontractors to review execution plans, schedules, and activities across engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Provide or coordinate engineering support for development and permitting activities.
  • Oversee execution of construction contracts and ensure compliance with scopes of work.
  • Support project developers in risk management, power-offtake agreements, financing arrangements, equity acquisitions, and RFP responses.
  • Partner with the development department to ensure smooth transition of sites into construction.
  • Coordinate with the legal department on development, negotiation, and execution of project contracts (MOUs, term sheets, turbine supply agreements, purchase/warranty/commissioning agreements).
  • Participate in construction and financial closings.
  • Coordinate the external bidding process, including preparation of bid packages, proposal evaluation, negotiations, and management recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Asset Management and Operations teams to define turnover requirements and assist with project transition to Operations upon completion.
  • Oversee Construction Managers and quality control teams during project execution to ensure compliance with contracts, lender requirements, and internal reporting standards.
